Raka is a 26 year old living in Indonesia. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in information systems in 2017. Wanting to create his own comic someday, he taught himself how to draw. He is currently a freelancer, and has a small business doing digital printing. After graduating, he had a hard time getting a job in IS, so he decided to learn English to increase his chances and connect with more people. He was able to invest in his printing business and hopes to continue to expand it in the years to come. He has been doin NFTs for over a year now and enjoys it because it allows him to draw anything he likes.

1. Tell me more about your background in information systems. Is there a specific area that you focus on, and has that experience helped at all when it comes to NFTs?

I learned databases and system hardware. It hasn't really helped at all with NFTs, and I'm still learning about this space. Some of my friends have helped me out as well. At this point, I have almost forgotten all of my IS lessons, and now I survive off of my business and my art.

2. You mentioned that you wanted to create your comic. What is your comic about?

It’s like a time travel adventure with action and sci-fi elements. I wrote it when I was in college. I would always imagine my own story before I went to bed, like the atmosphere and the fighting, and picture all of the lands he would visit. For now, I don't have the ability to travel like that myself, but I hope to one day be able to do so. My series, The Astonishing, has similar background and atmosphere as I picture for my comic.

3. I love The Astonishing series! Specifically, your piece "Ancient Rings". Is the character in that piece the time traveler you mentioned for your comic?

No sir! The Astonishing series is not actually related to my comic besides maybe the backgrounds. I need to improve more first before I draw the actual comic.

4. I may be biased on this next question, but switching over to your "RESTLESSNESS" series. "The Void" may be the coolest 1/1 piece I've ever seen, and it was sold for an absolute steal at 2 SOL. Tell me more about this piece.

The "RESTLESSNESS" series is about my feelings. The description is what I feel at that time, especially for The Void, which is my favorite piece. I love the movement of it because my friend helped me with the animation. I really want to learn motion graphics but for now, I don’t have enough tools to do so. The Void represents me. Sometimes I’m happy but sometimes I feel useless. This makes me feel two different feelings until I feel empty. However, I want to be a great artist someday, so I keep fighting my restlessness and keep moving forward. I keep a positive outlook for what happens in the future. The conclusion is that I have to keep moving down this path, keep learning something new to upgrade my skills, and keep drawing whatever I want with my feelings. It’s hard to be self-taught. So that’s why I feel my art is not yet consistent.

5. If you could work with any current Solana artist, who would it be and why?

I would love to work with Ben Bauchau, Ginnraff, or Tainaker. First, with Ben, I like his comic style and his inking/coloring in any condition. Ginnraff I like his style as well. Then for Tainaker I really love his coloring and highlights to go with his magical and cute characters. For the Astonishing series, I want to unite all of their styles, but recreate it with my own flair.
